History

Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, which is the transformation of Teacher Training and Education Institute/ IKIP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, and was founded on December 19, 1960 maintains its commitment to develop study programs within the scope of education. In 1994, IKIP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta transformed into Universitas Ahmad Dahlan.

The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education/ FKIP currently manages 11 Undergraduate (S1) programs, 1 profession program and 5 Master’s (S2) programs. The study programs under FKIP of UAD have been accredited by BAN-PT with the following accreditation status: Guidance and Counseling (A), Indonesian Language and Literature Education (A), English Education (A), Primary School Teacher Education (A), Mathematics Education (A), Physics Education (A), Biology Education (A), Pancasila and Civic Education (A), Early Childhood Teacher Education (B), and Vocational Education for Automotive Technology and Electrical Engineering (accredited). Meanwhile, the Master’s Programs under FKIP include English Language Education (A), Mathematics Education (B), Physics Education (B), Education Management (B) and Vocational Teacher Education (B).
