FKIP STUDENTS PERFORM INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE (KKN) IN THAILAND
Delegates from the Physics education (PFis), Biology education (PBio), Mathematics education (PMat), and English language education (PBI) study programs conducted LX International Regular Community Service for the even semester of the academic year of 2015/2016 in Hatyai, Thailand. FKIP International Community Service (KKN) Team consists of Syariful Fahmi, M.Pd. and Yahya Hanafi, M.Sc. as the field supervisors (DPL), KUI, and Vice Rector IV, Prof. Dr. Sarbiran, accompanying 37 students to Thailand from 30 July to 1 September 2016. The delegation consists of 14 P. Fis, 8 P.Bio, 8 P.Mat and 7 PBI students from regular and superior programs. They were set off from campus IV of UAD to Thailand on Saturday (30/8/16). This activity, which has been regularly carried out by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) each year, will be held until 1 September 2016.
The Minister of Education and Culture of Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Muhajir, even mentioned UAD for its International KKN Program in his speech at the welcoming dinner with ALPTK PTM National Working Meeting participants in Medan, 2 August 2016.
The Vice Dean of UAD FKIP, Dr. Suparman, M.Si. DEA., conveyed on another occasion that the International KKN Program is an effort to realize the vision of FKIP as well as to prepare graduates for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The International KKN participants are expected to have an international competence for global competition. The FKIP students are also expected to be able to give da’wah abroad and enlighten the community through international KKN.
In line with the FKIP Vice Dean, one of the Field Supervisors, Yahya Hanafi, M.Sc., expressed his wish that this international KKN can further strengthen the vision of UAD to be internationally recognized. This program is envisaged to be useful for schools in Thailand and improve the quality of students participating in the program. Putri Ayu S. Boleng, UAD student who took part as a delegate from PFis., agreed with the statement, “Alhamdulillah, all preparations have been completed; we just need to continue practicing our language further,” she said.
Conducted at the same time as the International KKN was the signing of an international MoU and MoA between UAD and Wittaya Sansuksa School, Thailand. The 2016 UAD FKIP International KKN Program was conducted at several locations: Songserm Sassana Vittaya School, Songkhom Islam Wittaya School, Suksasat School, Witt Foundation School, and Songserm Vittaya Munity School.
