FKIP LECTURERS SUCCESSFULLY INTRODUCE SOAP MADE OF USED COOKING OIL
Two UAD FKIP lecturers, Iis Suwartini, M.Pd. and Vera Yuli Erviana, M.Pd. successfully introduced soap from used cooking oil. This product is the result of a month-long Student Community Service-Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) in Kulon Progo. “There are 27 students involved in the UAD KKN-PPM program,” Iis explained to UAD FKIP Public Relations on Saturday, 23 February 2019.
This KKN-PPM activity was conducted with a grant from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) in 2018. Vera added that the KKN-PPM participants were trained at UAD Laboratory to practice making soap from used cooking oil. It is expected that students can teach the community at the KKN location to make soap from used cooking oil, and promote it.
Apart from Iis and Vera, Ahmad Ahid Mudayana, S.K.M., M.P.H. is also included as KKN field supervisor (DPL) who helps with the implementation of KKN-PPM in Kulon Progo. “We also held dissemination for the used cooking oil soap product to the community in Kulon Progo Regency, as well as giving out soap making tools,” Ahid explained.
