Guidance and Counseling National Seminar – Competency Standards for Student Independence in the Configuration of Guidance and Counseling Innovation
The Executive Board of the Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Association (ABKIN), in collaboration with the Faculty of Teacher Training (FKIP) of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), held an Online National Seminar titled “Competency Standards for Student Independence in the Configuration of Guidance and Counseling Innovation”. The online seminar was held on 27 and 28 June on Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Youtube channel. On 27 June, the event started at 08.00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Amdani Sarjun, M.Pd, reported that there were 1,414 registered participants. The Chairman of ABKIN Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Muh. Farozin, M.Pd., opened the event and expressed his appreciation of the activity.
On the first day, the event was divided into 3 sessions of material presentation. The materials in session 1 were delivered by. Prof. Dr. Sunaryo Kartadinata, M.Pd. (a professor at UPI Guidance and Counseling Program), the Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. He delivered materials on “Understanding and Mapping SKKPD in Guidance and Counseling Service Innovation”. In the second Panel Session, Prof. Dr. Syamsu Yusuf, M.Pd. (a professor at UPI Guidance and Counseling Program) talked about “Interpreting ITP ATP in Designing Student Development Environment”, while Prof. Dr. Juntika Nurihsan, M.Pd. (a professor at UPI Guidance and Counseling Program) talked about “Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling in Developing Student Independence”. In the third session, there were 2 presenters who delivered their materials in a panel discussion. They were Prof. Dr. Ahman, M.Pd. (a professor at UPI Guidance and Counseling Program) with “ITP ATP Multicultural Study in the Development of Guidance and Counseling Innovation” and Prof. Dr. DYP. Sugiharto, M.Pd., a professor at UNNES Guidance and Counseling Program with “Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling in Bridging Students towards Universities and Workplaces”. The presentation of the materials was very interesting, stimulating participants’ enthusiasm in learning.
On the second day, the presenters were no less interesting. In the first session, there were two presenters, Prof. Dr. Muh. Farozin, M.Pd., the Chairman of ABKIN and a professor at UNY Guidance and Counseling with the topic on SKKPD in Guidance and Counseling Services, continued by Dr. Triyono, M.Pd., the Secretary General of PB ABKIN (a lecturer at UM Guidance and Counseling Program) who delivered “The Assessment of the Needs of Millennial Children and Adolescents”. In the second session, Dr. Adi Atmoko, M.Si, a lecturer at UM Guidance and Counseling Program delivered “Guidance and Counseling Blended Learning Services to Develop SKKPD”, continued by Dr. Suwarjo, M.Si, a lecturer at UNY Guidance and Counseling Program with the materials on “The Dynamics of Individual Development through the Decades: Opportunities and Challenges for Research”
In order to enhance the participants’ knowledge and create a follow-up activity, the committee gave a 12-hour-worth assignment which was given on 29-30 June. The assignment is aimed to measure the level of the participants’ knowledge. A reflection form containing testimonials, impressions and follow-up plans was also distributed to the participants. With the reflection form, it is expected that the event will be improved in the future. The Guidance and Counseling thanks the participants for their active participation. Hopefully, the profession in the field of guidance and counseling will progress and be beneficial in developing student potentials.
