PHYSICS EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM HOLDS A WATER ROCKET CONTEST IN CENTRAL JAVA AND DIY
The Physics Education Study Program of UAD FKIP held a Water Rocket Contest for junior high schools and senior high schools throughout Central Java and Yogyakarta at UAD Campus IV on Sunday (3/11). In his remarks, the Head of Physics Education Study Program of UAD FKIP, Eko Nursulistyo, M.Pd., stated that there were 53 junior high school participating teams and 38 senior high school participating teams. “I think the enthusiasm of junior and senior high school students in the field of water rocket manufacturing is very high. In fact, there are schools that have an extracurricular activity on water rocket,” he told Public Relations of UAD FKIP.
He added that the Water Rocket Contest was a part of the 2019 Physics Festival (FIFA). FIFA is an annual activity held by the Physics Education Study Program of UAD FKIP. “This year, FIFA consists of three activities, namely Physics Olympiad, Teacher Education Seminar, and Water Rocket Contest,” he explained. The Physics Olympiad and the Water Rocket Contest were for junior and senior high school students throughout Central Java and Yogyakarta, while the Teacher Education Seminar was for teachers who accompanied students in the Physics Olympiad.
