PGPAUD OF UAD INTRODUCES ANGKLUNG AND KOLINTANG TO USANT AND SEA TEACHERS STUDENTS
The Early Childhood Teacher Education Study Program (PGPAUD) of UAD introduced Angklung and Kolintang, Indonesian musical instruments, to students of the University of Saint Anthony (Usant) and Southeast Asia (SEA) Teacher on Saturday, 26 January 2019 at Campus V of UAD. “The introduction of Angklung from West Java and Kolintang from North Sulawesi is aimed to familiarize foreign students with Indonesian culture through traditional music,” explained UAD FKIP Public Relations representative, Fery Setyaningrum, M.Pd.
Usant and SEA Teacher students were very enthusiastic in playing Angklung and Kolintang musical instruments. Two male Usant students, Lyndon and Henrico, were interested in playing Kolintang, while other Usant and SEA Teacher students were interested in playing Angklung. There were 10 Usant students and 5 SEA Teachers who learned to play Angklung and Kolintang with the help from Sagaf Faozata Adzkia, a music practitioner.
Also present were the supervisor from Usant, Christian I. Lamud and a number of PGPAUD lecturers. The introduction of Angklung and Kolintang to Usant and SEA Teacher students went well and was ended with a group photo. After being introduced to Angklung and Kolintang, Usant and SEA Teacher students went to Krebet Village, Bantul, to learn how to make batik masks. (SDY)
